Cricket great Steve Smith and wife Dani Willis to sell $12m Vaucluse home
Steve Smith’s eastern suburbs home has hit the market, complete with a stunning makeover that could score the cricket great an eye-popping profit.
Smith, long considered one of the world’s best batsman, earns an estimated $3m a year but he could bank double that on the back of the incredible renovation he and wife Dani Willis have completed.
The former Australian cricket captain quietly bought the four-bedroom, six bathroom Vaucluse property for $6.6 million in mid-2020 and have spent the time since transforming it into a contemporary masterpiece.
Given recent sales in the area and the continued high demand for quality houses at the top end of the market, a $12m+ sale is not out of the question for the Kings Road home.
Quite the house flip.
According to property records, the couple spent $563,179 on ‘extensions and alternations’ to the 766 sqm block.
The Smiths have lived for some time in the home and have been spotted at the popular nearby dog park Christensen Park with their cute little pooch by starstruck locals.

“A showpiece of timeless style and impressive dimensions this magnificent creation by acclaimed architects McKim Design set against a sweeping Sydney Harbour backdrop has resulted in an incredible family masterpiece that is as brilliantly functional and luxurious as it is undeniably stylish,” the listing reads.
“Complementing and contrasting in the most dynamic way, it reveals palatial proportions with vast open plan living zones finished to world class standards.”
Highlights of the home include it’s vast island breakfast bar in a kitchen complete with premium Gaggenau appliances, a home theatre, heated pool, Stoke fireplace, underfloor heating, remote control functionality throughout, a fully integrated security system and its commanding harbour views.
Smith, 33, who is currently touring Sri Lanka with the Australian team, has already proven himself to be an astute property investor.
His crowded property portfolio includes homes in Balmain, Birchgrove, Marrickville and Sans Souci.
The home has been brought to market by sales agent Frank Colacicco from Bentley Estate Agents – Hunters Hill In conjunction with Raine & Horne Double Bay Albert Sassoon.
It is scheduled for a June 21 auction.
