Artist Sorry for Brady Lurch Sketch

The courtroom artist who sketched the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady on Wednesday apologized for making the quarterback look like Lurch, the Addams Family character. “Obviously I apologize to Tom Brady for not making him as good-looking as he is,” Jane Rosenberg said. Her sketch of Brady, who appeared in a New York federal courtroom along with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and a team of lawyers to determine whether he will serve a four-game suspension over “Deflategate,” created a Twitter firestorm after the artwork first appeared online. Memes of Brady as The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lord of the Rings character Gollum and E.T. began circulating. Rosenberg, who has sketched courtroom appearances by celebrities ranging from Woody Allen to Martha Stewart, said drawing celebrities was difficult and that she was “under a lot of pressure to work very quickly.”
